About Smerk Design
Hi, I’m Garth Merkeley, the designer behind Smerk Design. I’ve been working in graphic design for over 15 years, with experience that spans freelance, agency, and corporate roles.
That range has given me the chance to work on just about every kind of project, from national ad campaigns and brand identities to social media content and websites. I’ve worked closely with restaurant chains, arts organizations, professional associations, non-profits, and startups, always adapting the design approach to suit the needs of the project and the personality of the client.
My work has been recognized by the Canadian Agri-Food Marketers Alliance and the Advertising Association of Winnipeg, but more importantly, it’s helped real people and organizations visually communicate, clearly and confidently.
While design is my main focus, I also have experience in areas like copywriting, photography, and video editing; skills I sometimes draw on when a project calls for it.
